Summary

This article is an outline of the goals for and topics covered at the Supervisor's Tokples Education Program (STEP) course. The course is designed to train Papua New Guinea national literacy teachers to be effective, independent trainers and supervisors in both adult and children's vernacular literacy programs. The course includes 5 one-month progressive modules. This material gives a schedule for presenting each topic covered during the course. It will give you ideas for designing a similar training course in your community.
