Bosscher, Kathleen. 1988. "Magic markers." Notes on Literacy.

States hypotheses that specific events mark transition of ownership from fieldworkers to people within the language community. At transition points, community insiders take the initiative and make decisions that affect their subsequent course of action. Activities then focus on implementing acceptable ideas.

Describes a process for fieldworkers to raise issues and suggest possible solutions to perceived problems. They do not move beyond idea sharing until events show acceptance of ideas by community people.
