Language documentation workshop in Indonesia
Instructors from SIL are conducting a language documentation workshop at the Atma Jaya University. Language documentation focuses on making an archival record of the language in use. After orientation to basic language documentation methods, participants will practice by actually documenting a limited sample of a language.
Software and linguistics presentations in North East India
The fifth international conference of the North East India Linguistics Society was hosted by the Department of Linguistics, Gauhati University, Assam, India. SIL participants contributed a workshop and a linguistics paper. The workshop demonstrated Toolbox, a data management and analysis software tool that has been widely used by field linguists.
